Searchdoc was founded by a team drawn from the search organizations behind NAVER and LINE and from the generative AI solutions practice at AWS. The company builds AI search infrastructure that turns the unstructured data accumulated across complex industrial operations into information that can genuinely be searched.
Combining experience in large-scale search and ranking systems with enterprise security and on-premises deployment expertise, the team has built a proprietary search engine that learns industry terminology and the relationships between pieces of information from domain data alone, rather than relying on general-purpose language models. Critically, it runs without GPUs — a decisive advantage in enterprise environments where data cannot leave the premises.
Searchdoc’s first market is EPC (engineering, procurement and construction), where a single bid can generate tens of thousands of pages and revisions continue even during the review period. In such an environment, a failure to trace a change leads directly to rework and schedule delay, and ultimately to major legal disputes.
By connecting data across formats — from contracts and specifications to 2D drawings and 3D BIM — Searchdoc tracks every change and the scope of its impact, doing more than streamlining labor-intensive review: it protects the financial integrity of the project itself.
The company has delivered projects with leading Korean construction firms and public sector clients, and is extending the inherent generality of search technology into other data-intensive industries such as manufacturing and distribution.
